WULTHORN ACADEMY

Personal project started as a way of re-interpreting the idea of magic school. As a fan of Stardew Valley and other village sims, I always thought the same treatment could be done for a magic academy. Wulthorn is an RPG where the player has been invited to Wulthorn Academy, a magical university that has seen better centuries. The player will learn a variety of skills, foster relationships, and rebuild the school.

MAKING MAGIC

The castle has been mostly occupied by magical items for centuries, causing the stronger artifacts to malfunction. The player is challenged to delve deep in the halls and subdue these powerful objects. Once defeated, the room the items were occupying can be retrofitted for a purpose of the player’s choosing. They can put the space to a particular function, expand their own living spaces, or gift the space to a friendly NPC.

BEAUTIFUL CORNER

This built section is a demo piece, representing the eventual goal of a 30+ hour experience. The player will wake up in their room, find their class selection in the Great Hall, and head to class to learn their first spell. Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen and the player is knocked into one of the wild rooms deeper in the Wulthorn. They’ll have to defeat the enchanted objects that block the exit and make their way back to safety.
